Artist Statement:

I combine and layer images culled from a
variety of sources.  The references I
employ include cartoons, comic books,
decorative motifs, found photographs,
doodles, and art historical paradigms.   My
interest lies in how these disparate
representations coalesce and create
meaning within the confines of a single
work.

Each piece is begun with little in mind of
its final outcome.  I work in a responsive
manner, layering, obscuring, erasing, and
adding elements until a decisive end
becomes clear.  It is only at this point that
intention becomes a governing force and
each painting is pushed toward
completion.
